8 Tell Tale Signs That You Were Meant To Be An Entrepreneur

Do you think you have what it takes to venture out on your own?

We have this culture in Kenya where we have been made to believe that entrepreneurs can only come from a certain tribe or geographical area.

You have probably held back on your dream of being your own boss because, for some reason, you think that you can’t make it in the entrepreneur world like so and so.

I know you know a few people, you were probably in school with who ventured out on their own and are now five hundred steps before you.

I believe for a fact that anyone can become an entrepreneur. You don’t feel so motivated?

Here are the telltale signs that you were born to be a boss and not the employee.

Signs That You Have What It Takes To Venture Out On Your Own

Entrepreneurship is all about taking risks. From my own experience, I have understood that you can do anything as long as you put your mind to it.

1. You come from a family of people who couldn’t work for someone else

Most entrepreneurs – but not all come from a family of people who couldn’t handle working for one another.

Your parents have probably been their own bosses all their life. This could be a sign that you were meant to tread the entrepreneur path.

2. You really hate the status quo

If you are the kind of person who has always questioned why people do what they do, then you are a born entrepreneur.

People who hate the status quo are always striving to change things for the better.

3. Self- confidence is your second name

Have you ever met an entrepreneur who always has negative thoughts and doesn’t believe that they can succeed?

If you are the kind of person who believes they can break through any barriers, then congratulations, go be your own boss.

4. You are passionate

Are there a time you spend so much time and energy on something even though you don’t make a cent from it. That’s passion and it’s one of the characters every successful entrepreneur has.

You have to love what you do and that’s a fact.

5. You never take no for an answer

Even if things don’t seem to work out, you keep pushing until you see results.

Entrepreneurs never give. If they did, the world would be a pretty boring place to live in.

6. You have the ability to create partnerships from nowhere

This is typical, you sees someone and you think of ways you can partner with such a person for a lucrative business.

Nothing is the ordinary for you. For instance, if you see a person selling mtumba or vegetables, your mind instantly goes to how you can partner and be supplying for them in wholesale.

That a good business person.

7. You are never the employee of the year

You have always been a lousy employee and have probably been fired a couple of times. You don’t have to beat yourself up for that because you are not alone.

Most entrepreneurs do not have the patience to work for someone else and they will end up being fired several times before they venture out on their own.

8. Your role models are great entrepreneurs

I am talking about the likes of Chris Kirubi, Erick Kinoti and many others who are running successful enterprises.

Instead of reading fantasy novels like other people, you are always looking for entrepreneur books and following stories of these successful entrepreneurs.

You are the first one to know that Chris Kirubi is planning on launching the biggest shopping mall in East Africa before construction even begins.

That’s the mind of a great entrepreneur and it’s about time you did something about it.

Being an entrepreneur takes courage and passion and the ability to take risks. If you have any of the qualities described above, then it’s time you started that business.
