Roles for the Assistant Procurement Manager Job

  • Main buyer for Secondary Grades Tea Auction
  • 2nd buyer for the main grades tea auction
  • Responsible for the development of the weekly buying strategy
  • Prepares and circulates weekly Final Market report
  • Oversees customer allocations in compliance to Unilever Asia Private Limited’s order
  • Responsible for the collation of production trends for forecasting purposes
  • Responsible for the process of updating weekly and monthly price and availability forecasts in Tea Forecasting System
  • Updates on a weekly basis graphical data required for monthly forecast feedback loop. This includes weekly sold quantities, average prices and country production statistics
  • Maintains regular communication with all tea suppliers for general information regarding production and quality trends.
  • Jointly with Procurement Managers, carries out forecasts on tea price and volume
  • Carries out tea tasting and Quality categorization for tea samples as part of tea quality and suitability assessment.
  • Daily tea tasting and categorization – Apprentice or Operational Taster

Assistant Procurement Manager Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 3-4 years’ experience in Procurement and supply chain management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work confidently and influence decisions.
  • SAP knowledge is an added advantage
