8 Things To Always Remember When You Feel Like You’re Not Good Enough

By Lilian Wamaitha
We all have those moments where we step back and think, “What exactly am I doing with my life?”
There is no such thing as a perfect life and a majority of the time you will spend it doubting yourself. There is nothing wrong with this.
However, there is so much to life than whining and beating yourself up about your past mistakes or what you have not accomplished yet.
Think about it, how will you enjoy the best that life has to offer when you are always looking back on defeats and not seeing the entire picture?
I am a firm believer that instead of focusing on the broken, we should embrace what we are good at and what we can actually achieve.
Learning to cherish what you have and believing that greater things are ahead of you is the best way to finding happiness and defining success for yourself.
That said, here are a few things that you should always keep in mind when you think that you are not good enough.
1. Somehow, you have made it past everything else
Look back at the time you have lived. How many problems have you faced? You overcame them, right?
There was that time when you doubted yourself. You are here today because you faced your fears and moved past it.
So whatever you are going through today, it is just a passing wind. A few months from now, you will look back at this as just another setback that you maneuvered.

2. Today supersedes that future or the past
It is normal to be drowned in the frustrations of yesterday and consumed by what the future holds. All you need is to focus on today.
Live your life today, because tomorrow will still happen and who knows what it will bring?
How you tap into the present and maximize it can make a whole lot of difference about how you future turns out.
Somehow when you think about it, today is an outcome of the choices you made yesterday.
3. The world as it is full of endless comparisons
Everyone is comparing themselves to someone else. Think about it. Whoever you are comparing yourself to today is also comparing themselves to another.
So rather than being judgmental, why not learn to see the world with understanding and compassion? We are all going through the motions of life and have problems of our own.
4. There is always an opportunity to try something else
Failure is inevitable and chances are that you will fail a few times in your life. That however should not be the end of you.
Just because it hasn’t happened to you, doesn’t mean that it’s never going to happen.
The world is full of possibilities. Possibilities to try something new and different.
5. You have to love yourself, no one else will
This is something that you need to constantly keep reminding yourself. While there is nothing wrong with trying to improve yourself, you have to remember first that you have to accept yourself for who you are.
The journey to success is never easy and as such you have to be your own cheer leader because no one else will.
6. No one is perfect
We all have our flaws. You may not have achieved yet everything that you had set for yourself, but that doesn’t mean that you are a failure.
Stop comparing yourself to others and thinking that they are living a better life than you.
Even those who seem accomplished have their shortcoming and there is nothing wrong with little imperfections.
You are just human.
7. You always have a choice
Nothing is forced upon you. You have a choice.
The way life works is either you embrace happiness or practice stress. Rather than choosing to be miserable why not choose to be happy no matter how life is.

8. Failure is not the end, but a learning experience
What we take as failure is just a learning experience.
If you fail to something, stand up, brush off the dust and keep pushing on.
We only fail when we don’t learn something from our mistakes.
At the end of the day
There will come a time when you will feel like you are not good enough. Learning to embrace your weaknesses and reminding yourself that you are human, is the best way to find success and happiness in life.
